Megan Fisher wins USA Para-cycling National Road Championships

US Paralympic athlete Megan Fisher won the women’s C4 road race of the USA Para-cycling National Championships, held yesterday in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The Argonette from Missoula, Montana, finished the race in 1:24:04 in front of Shawn Morelli, who took silver in 1:30:55.

"Road racing is not an individual sport," says Fisher. "Thank you to my teammates, my coach, and those of you who helped me get to the line AND cross the line. Hooray for first place!"

More than just a cyclist

Megan Fisher didn’t slow down after winning one gold and one silver medal in para-cycling at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. In 2013, she became a world champion in two separate sports. At the 2013 UCI Para-Cycling Road World Championships, Fisher claimed both the road race and time trial titles, and just 11 days later, she raced to victory at the International Triathlon Union Paratriathlon World Championships. Her outstanding cycling fitness was evident, with the fastest bike split of all TRI-5 competitors by more than three minutes.
