Two podiums in a week for triathlete Terenzo Bozzone

Professional triathlete and Argonaut Terenzo Bozzone has once again brilliantly illustrated himself by winning the Challenge Dubai and finishing in second place at IRONMAN New Zealand. A feat, given that both races were held within a week.

A resounding victory in Dubai

Taking advantage of Spain's Javier Gomez dropping-out in the cycling portion of the race, Bozzone maintained the cruising speed of his E-118 Next bike and hung in there to finally sign a convincing victory in 3:41:45, nearly a minute ahead of his closest pursuer.

During his career, which spans over more than fifteen years, the New Zealander has repeatedly proven his value and endurance, while brilliantly demonstrating that he could grapple with the greatest triathletes in the world.

A bittersweet 2nd position

Eight days after his victory in Dubai, Bozzone ignored the residual fatigue of his previous race to participate in IRONMAN New Zealand, answering the call of his homeland and his supporters.

“Onto the bike I was pleased that I was able to find my rhythm early on. I had hoped that a small group would form and we could work together. I found myself passing the 3 leaders and making my way to the front to ride solo for the rest of the bike. Things were going great, my legs felt good and I seemed very in control. With all the hype around town I may have got slightly carried away starting the 2nd lap and this came back to bite me at the 140km mark.”

Unfortunately, Bozzone finished the race in 2nd place for the fourth time in a row. The perennial competitor, however, recorded a time of 8:28:52.
