BORA – Argon 18 and riders from Silber Pro Cycling on the Starting Line
The 7th edition of the Grands Prix Cyclistes de Québec et Montréal (GPCQM) gets underway on Friday. These international races are unique events in the North American World Tour’s and Union Cycliste Internationale’s (UCI) calendar, and they are among the most prestigious.
The Opportunity to See the Greatest Cyclists in the World
This year again the GPCQM welcomes the UCI’s world elite, including BORA – Argon 18, a team that is successful on the World Tour circuit and which participated in this year’s Tour de France and Vuelta a España.
Moreover, a team will bear Canada’s colours during these races. On the eight-rider roster, six are from Silber Pro Cycling, a Montreal-based Continental team riding under Argon 18’s banner during the regular season.
The first race will be held Friday in the heart of Quebec City, on a 12.6km circuit and 16 laps, for a total of 201.6km. The same riders will compete once more on Sunday on Mount Royal, a sure bet for a high-calibre competition. The Montreal circuit is made of 17 laps of a 12.1km circuit, for a total of 205.7km.
