Gallium
Easy positioning, accurate steering, immediate acceleration
The result of our ongoing quest for optimal balance and maximum performance, the new Gallium is a worthy successor to the original and refines a number of its design concepts. Built to shine in every setting, the 2010 Gallium is the perfect ride for those seeking to maximize their performance potential and achieve their goals.

• Geometry -AFS... Argon 18 Fit System, it's human specific
• The Argon 18 Fit System relies on years of knowledge about the cycle geometries required to make a bike as efficient and enjoyable to ride as possible. Argon 18 bikes are more comfortable and sure-footed because the rider is properly positioned.
• The AFS is the result of a thorough analysis of positioning factors. The range offers 6 well-conceived, finely-balanced frame sizes/geometries for comfort and stellar handling.

• 3D Headtube: 3 sizes for a wider adjustment range
The 3D Headtube* is a structural extension of the headtube. It keeps the headset bearings close to the stem, maximizing rigidity and steering accuracy even when the rider chooses an upright position. With its stiffness intact, the stem/bar combination favors hard accelerations.
Three positions are available: 0mm,10mm and 20mm.
The numbers tell the story
3D structural spacer outside diameter: 52mm
Comparison with traditional spacers:
Aluminum: +44%
Carbon fibre: +58%
Increased rigidity under load
Compared to a standard 10mm spacer, a 3D structural spacer increases rigidity by 5%.
A 20mm 3D spacer increases rigidity by 11%.
Using the 3D system with no spacer places the bearing directly under the stem:
flexing is virtually eliminated

• HDS monocoque frame frame with load-specific tube shapes
The 2010 Gallium’s tube design is an evolution of the Horizontal Dual System principle
• Tube size, shape, and wall thickness as well as composite formulation vary according to the intended design objectives. Maximum lateral rigidity in the lower portion of the frame: chainstays, downtube, bottom bracket area and headtube. Optimized vibration damping in upper portion: top tube, seatstays. Explosive acceleration and comfort in all conditions.
• The bottom bracket area and chainstays have substantially larger dimensions for maximum rigidity and lightning-quick acceleration. Overall lateral stiffness of the 2010 Gallium is 8% better than in the original Gallium.
• The seatstays and top tube, accordingly, are designed to ensure enough vertical compliance for comfort that equals the frame’s high efficiency.

• Argon 18 GA31 exclusive fork
Complementary fork and seatstay design: the Ga31 monocoque carbon fork is an Argon 18 exclusive. It is designed to enhance the frame’s intrinsic characteristics. Its vertical compliance and lateral stiffness complement the rear triangle’s properties perfectly, giving the Gallium a unified, “all of a piece” feel, capable of powerful, immediate accelerations.
• Technically, its design concept revolves around an enlarged crown area, using a rugged 1’’1/4 size headset that increases stability, particularly at high speed.
• The seatstays and top tube, accordingly, are designed to ensure enough vertical compliance for comfort that equals the frame’s high efficiency.

• ASP-6000 seat post: an Argon 18 exclusive
• Rather than an unwieldly integrated seatmast that complicates packing the bike in travel cases, we have designed the ASP-6000, a custom seatpost that extends the frame’s design characteristics.
• Saddle adjustments, both fore-aft and angle, are implemented separately using two independent mechanisms. One parameter can thus be fine-tuned without changing the other.
• Diameter: 31.6 mm

• 6003 HM Carbon Composite
6003 HM carbon is a sophisticated, highly refined composite. Every frame section uses different grades of HM fibers in a complex layup schedule, to withstand frame stresses and fulfill design objectives.
• This translates to an increased stiffness that is readily felt when riding, with full power transfer and tight, quick handling, combined with maximum vibration dissipation for day-long comfort.
• The carbon composite and layup are planned so as to work optimally with
the shapes formed by the Gallium’s mold, eliminating redundant material; the resulting weight reduction can be readily felt on the road.

Working with the composite layup
Size-Specific Specs principle, applied internally. Reinforcements inside the frame vary according to frame size, putting extra material only where necessary, reducing needless weight while improving stiffness for a complete power transfer.
